Hockey fans are in for a raucous affair this weekend when the Kamloops Blazers play the Chilliwack Bruins tomorrow night at Interior Savings Centre.

These two teams combined for 263 penalty minutes and seven game misconducts when they met in the pre-season.

Kamloops Blazer Travis Dunstall won't be winning any popularity contests inside the Bruins dressing room, after running over Chilliwack goalie Andrew Pinsent in the last outing.

Cries from the Bruins bench claiming Dunstall made the hit intentionally ingnited the fireworks, and the parade to the penalty box began.

The Blazers, who ended up losing the game 6-4, are hoping the first regular season matchup with the Bruins will put another notch in their win column.

They are also hoping to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday night.

Despite losing 5-4 in the last 26 seconds of overtime, Blazers coach Dean Clark said his club is making strides on the ice.

"We did a lot of good things," he

said. "We just made some bad decisions. We were playing high-risk hockey and it cost us."

Clark said the team will be working on clamping down in the neutral and defensive zones before it faces the Bruins, who are 1-4 this year.

"We played excellent hockey offensively. We just have to do the same in our end."

Hopefully the Blazer keep up with the work ethic tonight and play a better team game tonight, Butler is suppose to get the start in goal and will remain there as long as the team wins, My prediction is 5-3 Blazers :bounce:

A theme of the Blazers this year is hard work, and tonight hard work plus team work, unlike the Kelowna game resulted in a much deserved 2 - 0 win.
At times tonight the Blazers were very dominating at times they sat back a bit. Only one fight tonight if you can call it that with Kassian quickly taking down Bhungal in the first period after that there was no fireworks to speak of.

Dustin Butler started the game, getting his first shutout as a Blazer, he was not tested alot but came up big when called upon, just what this team needs,
Both Kamloops goals by Schmermund and White were there first of there WHL careers
With this win Kamloops moves into second place one point up on PG and a mere 10 behind Vancouver which I am sure they will make up in head to head matches this season

Pretty bad game by the Bruins. I know they won't be happy with that effort.

yeah that "fight" was a huge let down with all the pre fight positioning and circling then buhngal fell down and it was over it was nice to finally see a game in kamloops even if we lost

Actually not a lot different effort than the Kelowna game except more defensively sound, fewer bad pinches resulting in odd-man rushes the other way. Drew a lot of penalties again. Got chances on the PP but no sense of urgency. Almost like they knew they'd be back on the PP in a couple minutes so why press.
