who are your teams 16 year olds and 2005 first round picks who made the team ?better question did any first rounders or notables not make your teams roster ?

for the raiders
16 year old winger jordan trach has looked very very good 6' and over 200 lbs already. got 17 games in as a 15 year old last season and plays a top line role in pa. very bright future for him.
16 year old d-man blaine tendler has also impressed. very very poised for a rookie doesnt panic makes good decisions. plays on the pk. was supposed to be a high pick but slipped to the raiders in the 2nd round (was considering the college route) got into 8 games last year.

To start the season with ones as the backup goalie, Stone on defense (and playing with lots of poise). Up front we have Kalinski and last year walk-on Bandon Kozun. Also 2005 first round pick, Rowinski is on the injured list until late November. Not sure if they will keep him around or send him to the MJHL. That's how it looks in HITMEN country.

For the Giants, James Wright , Lance Bouma, and Craig Cunningham, all made the team as 16 year olds. All 3 are Forwards.

All have looked good thus far, rotating in and out of the lineup. Wright and Bouma were the Giants 1st and 2nd round picks in the '05 draft. Cunningham was the Giants 7th round pick.

The only notable to not make the team would be D-man Nathan Deck ('90, 3rd rounder). But with both Regner, and Toigo making the D-line as 17 year old rookies, its no surprise Deck was sent down.

for the chiefs
Wahl (1st round 05 pick)
Reddington (2nd round 05 pick)
Koper (list player)

Haven't been able to see Koper play yet, but he was energetic and all over the ice during the pre-season. Reddington and Wahl are very solid, as expected of the top two picks, and will definately be a keep part of the Chiefs to come.

Tyler Hlookoff - D - 5'11" / 168 : Silvertips 6th round selection (130th overall) in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft
He looke dgood in preseason and got into his first action this weekend with Doyle and Ellington nursing some injuries. I thought he played well and the Tips gave up 1 goal in two games plus OT. He didn;t see a ton of ice time, but held his own. I like his make up.

Kyle Beach - C - 6'3" / 180 : Silvertips 1st round selection (10th overall) in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft
What can you say about Beach. A mouth as big as his talent. Learned a lesson from Kassian last weekend and went out and had the best game of his young career Sat. Vs. the T-birds. 2 goals and an Assist. He has 5 points (4G, 1A) in 6 games this season and should be a mainstay for a few years on the top line in Evt. He's listed as a Center, but played Wing to Mueller's Center on the #1 line Saturday.

Matt Ius - RW - 6'2" / 170 : Silvertips 2nd round selection (30th overall) in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft
Interesting kid here. Definately has the size but somewhat disapointing in that he has yet to suit up this year. He's been a "healthy scratch" all 6 games. Considering Mueller and Fiala missed the first 4 games of the year (Fiala is still out) I thought he'd see some PT. This will get me soundly booed off the Tips board, but I'd rather see him get some time than Zack Dailey.

current Tips Roster by birth year:
1990: 3
1989: 8
1988: 7
1987: 5
1986: 3

#11 Kruise Reddick - Center/Left Wing - 5'9" 165 lbs - Manor, Saskatchewan - List player making the jump from AAA midget in Yorkton last year. Shifty, skilled center with a strong work ethic. Tenacious forechecker sees time on the penalty killing unit.

#5 Tyler Schmidt - Defense - 6'1" 200 lbs - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Americans 2nd round selection in 2005. Classic combination of grit and skill. Averaged more than a point a game last year in AAA midget in Winnipeg leading his club to the league championship. So far he has shown good offensive instincts and a lot of confidence in his abilities. Top scoring defenseman so far for the Americans with 2 goals and 2 assists in 5 games.

#7 Eric Mestery - Defense - 6'5" 190 lbs - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Americans 1st round selection in 2005. Fantastic skating stride for his size and a good sense of the game. Mature for his age. Played on a pairing with Schmidt in midget last year. Reminds me of a young Braydon Coburn.

Late Cut...Was sent down after the acquisition of Yellow Horn and Kaye.

#23 Cody Wutzke - Left Wing - 6'1" 210 lbs - Aberdeen, Saskatchewan - Americans 5th round selection in 2005. Physical player who plays with a lot of swagger, even at the WHL level. Likes to initiate contact and thrown his weight around. Averaged just under a point a game playing AAA midget last year as a 15-year-old while racking up 145 PIMs.

Teigan Zahn - Skates like the wind. Good shot and reliable on the back end. He improved incredibly from 15 to 16.

Gaelan Patterson - Had a nose for the net in AA. However he slipped when he went to AAA. He made the Blades squad anyways. He had the flu and hasnt had a chance to get started. I believe he has 2-3 games under his belt. 0 PIM

Mike Clements - 0 penalty minutes and decent on the back end. OK skater, needs some work on the shot.

TOP 15'S.

Mitch Berg (1st round) - Great size for a 15 year old at 6'3 and 190 pounds. Skates smoothly but needs some speed. Very hard shot and reliable at the backend.

Stephan Elliot [1st round(from PG)] - From what ive read this kid is the complete package. Great skater and is rarely beat 1-on-1. BC's Minor Hockey League player of the year. Most teams he played on gave him a letter. Will play in Saskatoon with an old buddy(Colton Gillies)
