COUGARS MILESTONES

As the Cougars embark on a six-game road swing, here are some major landmarks players have already passed this year, or are in the process of passing:

n Captain Eric Hunter has played 264 games as a Cougar, and with good health will become just the second Cougar to play 300 games for Prince George. Chris Falloon holds the record of 336, which Hunter cannot reach. In addition, with a total of 89 goals, Hunter needs 11 more to tie Falloon’s career goals mark, and 55 more points to pass Falloon (227 points).

n Nick Drazenovic has 107 assists in his career, and 20 more will tie him with Dan Hamhuis for the all-time mark. Drazenovic is 61 points behind Falloon for the all-time scoring lead. And, with 226 games under his belt, Drazenovic is the only current Cougar with a shot at passing Falloon’s longevity mark — if he plays the rest of this season’s games and a full complement in the WHL as a 20-year-old, Drazenovic would end with 363 games.

n Recently-released defenceman Curtis Cooper left with the third-highest games-played total in Cougars history, with 276. Ian Walterson (295) is between Cooper and Falloon.

n Defenceman Curtis Patterson played his 100th WHL game in Tuesday’s home loss to Swift Current.

n Goaltender Real Cyr needs four wins to reach 25 (21-38), and is one shutout back of former teammate Scott Bowles’ record of eight. With three shutouts this season, Cyr would become the first Cougars netminder to post double digits in blanks. Cyr is also two appearances shy of 75 in his three-year career.

n Defenceman Kalvin Sagert played his 200th WHL game in the second game of this season. He can finish with a total of 342 if he stays healthy and returns next year as an overager. Sagert is four points away from a total of 50.

n Defenceman Ty Wishart needs three points to reach 50. He’s played 132 games.

n Centre Greg Gardner, 19, played in his 200th WHL game last Friday against Vancouver. Gardner has 15 goals and 20 assists in that span.

n When Devin Setoguchi played his first game as a Cougar on Tuesday, it was his 201st WHL game – the first 200 came with the Saskatoon Blades. Setoguchi needs 22 points for 200 in his career, and 18 goals for 100, and four assists for 100.

n Overager Jared Walker has played 231 WHL games, most with Red Deer, and can finish his career with 296 games.

n Brett Robertson’s WHL career will span no more than 278 games, given the 65 remaining and his current total of 213. Robertson’s next goal will be the 50th of his time in the WHL.
