Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips buried the Prince George Cougars 6-1 in tonight's hockey game at the Everett Events Center. This is the final meeting of four between the two clubs with the Cougars finishing the series on top 3-1. Everett stays in second place in the US Division with a record of 27-22-7-2 and 63 points. The Prince George Cougars remain in fifth place in the BC Division with a record of 22-34-3-1 and 48 points.

Tonight was a record breaking night for the Silvertips. Alex Leavitt earned six points, with three goals and three assists, which is the franchise record for the most points scored by a player in a game. He also earned the first hat trick in franchise history at home at the Everett Events Center. This is the second hat trick for the team with Marc Desloges earning the first one last year in Portland. Torrie Wheat also made headlines tonight by receiving his 100th point in his Western Hockey League career.

Assistant Captains Torrie Wheat and Shaun Heshka were responsible for the two first period goals. During the second Shaun Heshka would go on to score one more while Alex Leavitt tallied two. Then at 11:34 in the third period, Leavitt received his third on the night with an unassisted, short-handed goal. Leavitt added to his tally by posting three assists during the game. Also tallying assists were Torrie Wheat and Jonathan Harty with two and Shaun Heshka, Michael Wuchterl and Ryan Blatchford with one a piece. In goal for the Silvertips was Mike Wall, who stopped 22 of 23 shots on goal and lifts his record to 20-17-6

The Prince George Cougars got on the board only once this game at 12:47 of the first period. Colin Patterson put the puck in the net with help from teammates Andy Rogers and Dustin Byfuglien. Scott Bowles started in the net for the Prince George Cougars but was pulled after the second period. Bowles allowed the Silvertips to score five times on 23 shots. His record falls to 17-19-4. Real Cyr played the entire third period and made 6 saves on 7 shots.

what a game for Leavett! Brule had a huge game too.First hat trick(4g) of his career!Way to go guys.
