Clark edged out linemates Derlago and Reaves

CALGARY, AB - The WHL Player of the Week is forward Andrew Clark of the Brandon Wheat Kings. Clark earned player of the week honours by scoring 3 goals and 11 points including two power-play goals in 4 games, helping the Wheat Kings to a 3-0-0-1 record last week.

On Monday, October 9, Clark scored once and added three assists in a 6-5 win over the Hurricanes at the Enmax Center in Lethbridge.

On Friday, October 13, Clark scored a pair of goals for the Wheat Kings in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Regina Pats.

On Saturday, October 14, Clark added an assist in a 3-2 Wheat Kings win in Saskatoon.

On Sunday, October 15, Clark rounded out the week with four assists as Brandon dumped the Raiders, 6-2 in Prince Albert.

Clark, a 18-year-old native of Brandon, Manitoba is eligible for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Honourable mention goes to Martin Hanzal of the Red Deer Rebels as well as Clark's two Brandon linemates - 20-year old left-winger Mark Derlago and 19-year old right-winger Ryan Reaves. Derlago was edged out by Kootenay's Ben Maxwell last week.

Clark, Derlago, Reaves and the Wheat Kings don't play again until this coming weekend when they play host to Lethbridge and Kootenay in a mini 2-game WHL home stand at the Keystone Centre.
