US Players are not invited to the tournament. Nor will there be games played in the US division. It is a bit of a drag, but...

i hope the sexsmith part was a bit of sarcasm not saying he is a bad goalie but a back up picked as one of the two picked from the entire whl not a chance

He is not the back up though...The Giants are employing a rotation system...there is no # 1 goalie either. One game it is Tyson, the next it is Dustin.

yeah things are going well early in the season they can afford to switch on and off with the goalies but once they get into the season im sure you will see slade get the bulk of the work i cant see slade putting up with that for long

If that was the case he wouldn't have got starts against teams like the Wheaties. Slade would have played in back to back games and mid-late season rest Slade and give Sexsmith time so Slade can go into the playoffs fresh.

Hay has said countless times that this is how it is going to be until the playoffs are here.

The games are for guys who may take part in the World Juniors. Slade is too old.

I didn't realize that US players were not allowed to play -- I thought they were taking on the CHL best not the best Canadian players, but I suppose that makes sense.

yeah the way Sexsmith is being played this season, he qualifies - imo, but considering how poorly Price fared last season and how good Slade was last season and the beginning of this season I find it odd he was not selected - maybe it was a factor of trying to get all of the teams represented.

Tyson has only played about 15 games in his WHL career thus far, and even though he has played well, he is by no means one of the top goalies in the WHL, yet.

And as Bruin and others have said, this is a showcase for the World Juniors, and neither Tyson nor Dustin will be at the World Juniors.
