The Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that a veteran member of the Pembina Valley AAA midget Hawks has been recalled and that he will make his Western Hockey League debut on Wednesday night at Winnipeg's MTS Centre.

16-year old Chad Erb, a 6'3" 190 lb defenceman from Sanford, is scheduled to practice with the Wheat Kings this afternoon before dressing for tomorrow night's game against the visiting Regina Pats.

A member of last month's gold medal winning Team Western at the World Under 17 Championship in Lethbridge, Erb was a fifth round selection (98th overall) of the Wheat Kings in the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft in Calgary.

In 32 games this season, Erb has seven goals, 19 points and a team leading 137 penalty minutes. As well, he leads the club with an impressive +48 ranking.

Winners of ten of their last eleven games, the Wheat Kings take a season high 8-game winning streak into Wednesday's game against the Pats. Wednesday's game will be the first of three games between these two teams in five days. Brandon will host the Pats at the Keystone Centre on Friday night before travelling to Regina to meet the Pats on Sunday afternoon.
