WALL TIED FOR SECOND IN SINGLE-SEASON SUTOUTS

Everett Silvertips’ goaltender Mike Wall has moved into a tie for second for the most shutouts by a goaltender in a single season.

Wall posted his league-leading 10th shutout of the season with Saturday’s 3-0 defeat of Red Deer, tying him with Chris Worthy of the 1967-68 Flin Flon Bombers for second on the single-season shutout list.

The current WHL record for shutouts in a single season belongs to Kelly Guard, who posted 13 shutouts for the Kelowna Rockets during the 2003-04 season.

Guard’s mark of 13 shutouts in a single season is also a CHL record.
