Broncos Graduates Benefit from Scholarship Fund
DEC 4 - The Swift Current Broncos are proud to announce that 11 former players are using the Swift Current Broncos Scholarship Fund at post-secondary institutions across North America. It’s part of the Western Hockey League’s Scholarship Fund that provides each WHL player one year of tuition and books at a post-secondary institution of their choice for each year they play in the league.

Following is a list of players attending post-secondary institutions this year:

John Dahl (University of Saskatchewan)
Jeff Harvey (University of Saskatchewan)
Brent Twordik (University of Saskatchewan)
Travis Friedley (University of Calgary)
Luke Hunter (University of Calgary)
Aaron Richards (University of Calgary)
Dustin Friesen (University of New Brunswick)
Jason Roberts (University of Lethbridge)
Blair Stengler (University of Regina)
Colin Stone (Mount Royal College)
Michael Szczachor (Texas A & M University)

"We're proud of our scholarship commitment to all of these players. All of the players made contributions to our organization, with three of them being captains of our team," commented Broncos Assistant General Manager/Director of Operations Elden Moberg. "The Western Hockey League Scholarship Program is outstanding for all players in the league in that it provides an opportunity to pursue educational goals if a career in professional hockey doesn't materialize."

In total, the Hockey Club anticipates providing $80,000.00 in scholarships to current and former players this year.
