Broncos Take 2 of 3
DEC 4 - The Swift Current Broncos were faced with one of their most important weekends of the season as they played 3 games in 3 nights against division teams and the club managed to grab 4 of a possible 6 points.

On Friday night the Broncos travelled to Moose Jaw to take on the Warriors and couldn't manage to get off to the start they wanted. A special teams collapse allowed the Warriors to score 5 times on the power play and add another goal while shorthanded to defeat the Broncos 6-2. Matt Tassone and Zack Smith scored for the Broncos.

Saturday night was Kurt's KFC Teddy Bear Toss night and Levi Nelson scored just 2:13 into the game, littering the ice with teddy bears that were donated to the local Salvation Army. After scoring the first 2 goals of the game, the Broncos allowed Brandon to score 3 unanswered to take a 3-2 lead. A resilient Broncos squad rallied back and eventually walked out of the Civic Centre with a 6-4 victory. Levi Nelson recorded a 4 point night with 2 goals and 2 assists while Jeremy Schenderling scored a hat trick with all 3 goals coming on the power play.

And on Sunday night the Broncos played host to the Regina Pats, whom they were tied with for 2nd place in the Eastern Division heading into the game. The Broncos found themselves in sole posession of 2nd place after the game thanks to an exciting 3-2 victory. Zack Smith, Daniel Rakos, and Michael Wilson all scored for the Broncos in the win.

The Broncos now sit 2nd in the Eastern Division and trail the 1st place Brandon Wheat Kings by just 5 points. The team set numerous season highs this weekend. They scored 3 power play goals in a single game for the 1st time this season. Levi Nelson's 4 point night was the a first on the season while Jeremy Schenderling's hat trick was also the first on the season for a Broncos player. Travis Yonkman was in goal for both of the teams victories and now boasts an impressive 7-3-1-0 record.

The Broncos have another key stretch of games against East Division opponents this week as they travel to Prince Albert on Wednesday night and then head East for a game against Moose Jaw on Friday and Brandon on Saturday.
