Everything I have read suggests Boxing Day will be the first game with the new clock.

The Flames need to find a block of about 3-4 days to get the old one out and the new one in, and the only time during the season is the week before Christmas.

Old scoreclock is coming town tonight, after the Flames game. That means no video screen for Tomorrow or Friday's Hitmen games.

Gosh, it sounds as though the poor hitmen fans will have to make due with just there power ring (somehow that doesnt sound so bad)till after xmas. how will they ever manage.

Im only kidding

It would kind of suck to have it for years, and then just not have it. You will soon find out how us rebel fans manage. Im sure you will be very happy with the new product, the drawings look incredible. I wonder if they will use the entire board for hitmen games. The only reason i say that is because its gonna be one large power bill for the power ring, video board, and the 14 other screens on the main board. I could see them using the video board, the scoreclock and then just the power ring.

by the image RTG -- it looks like the same score-clock that Vancouver (Canucks) installed this fall -- took quite a time to do the install so I'm surprised that they expect to get Hitmen games in there while doing the install -- I would assume the old one might be coming down tonight, but the new one won't be assembled until at least Sunday.

Wasnt a problem, actually. The scoreboard was half dissasembled before Wednesday's game (wish I had taken a picture... they just raised this shell of a board back up to the rafters for the game), and was gone entirely before last night's game. They have from today to Christmas day to get the new one installed.

dj-kris - yeah, those screens are definitely bigger, but looks like a lot of viewable area is taken up by the scoreboard aspects itself. Very, very nice scoreclock though.

Though neither team can comapre to what the Dallas Cowboys are planning for their screen:

Moose Jaw will gladly take your old one. It will beat any of the two we have.

wow, here it is under construction (looks complete i may add). Its weird how there are 8 secondary boards on top with what looks like full video capability. The main screens on the old board were that size and there were only 4.

thx dj-kris you're right its not the same board

and rtg that video screen in dallas is just crazy -- I think the price of the nose-bleeds went up because they are closer to the screen :thumb:

Moose Jaw would have ot flip there roof the other way around for the Flames old scoreboard to fit in the stadium even then it still might not fit. and also the scoreboard would be worth more then the crush can then, just doesnt seem right now does it lol

how did it look at the med hat game tonight. Any pics by chance. Just curious, do they use the entire scoreboard for hitmen games or just the replay screen and scoreclock

Yes and No. All of the screens were on, but they only made use of the replay screen and four upper screens acting as the scoreboard. The other four, used to display stats, etc at Flames games just held a Hitmen logo most of the night.

I certantly wasn't expecting to see TOI stats, faceoff breakdowns, etc during a Hitmen game, but the out of town scoreboard would have been nice.

FYI: The Flyers were the 1st team to implement such a scoreboard.
