Mueller Headed to Sweden

12/06/06 - Western Hockey League (WHL) Everett Silvertips

Everett Silvertips forward Peter Mueller was selected by USA Hockey to play for the United States at the 2007 World Junior Championships. The tournament will be held in Sweden and will begin on December 26. It will be Mueller's second tour of duty with Team USA at the World Junior Championships.


The Phoenix Coyotes 1st round selection (8th overall) in the 2006 NHL Draft was recently named the WHL Player of the Month of November earlier this week. The Bloomington, Minnesota native is leading the Silvertips in scoring and assists with 7 goals and 36 assists for 43 points. Mueller is also 3rd in the WHL in scoring with 43 points and leads the WHL in assists with 36.


The 2005-2006 WHL Rookie of the Year has played in several international tournaments with the United States in his career. Last season Mueller played for Team USA at the 2006 World Junior Championships in Vancouver, BC and also was part of the gold medal United States squad at the 2005 Under-18 World Championships.


The Silvertips next home game at the Everett Events Center is on Saturday, December 9 against their I-5 rivals, Seattle Thunderbirds.
