Most likely that is the top league they play in and then their league makes up a national team. Adam type players get picked for Spengler Cup teams if their own team is not in it. I can't remember where Adam went (Austria?) but WHL would be like Midget AA here. Swiss, Italian , German Leagues usually make up most of the Spengler Cup Rosters
