"CALGARY (CP) - The Canadian junior hockey team's selection camp had barely begun Sunday when players started moving in and out of the lineup.

A hurried invitation to a fifth goaltender and an injury to defenceman Kris Russell had the selection camp roster in flux for the first on-ice sessions of camp.

Russell, one of five defencemen who helped Canada win gold at the 2006 tournament in Vancouver, left the ice early after a hard collision with Cody Bass. Russell seperated his shoulder in 2 places, and broke his index finger on his left hand." Just Kidding, that didnt happen. He aggravated a nagging groin injury. Bet I had a couple people going there!

"We don't think it's anything serious, but we'll keep him off the ice tomorrow for sure," head coach Craig Hartsburg said. "Pretty good scare to start practice for all of us.

"I've never seen a collision like that in a warmup drill."

Hopefully its nothing to serious, but he will at least get a little time to rest.
