    VERSUS THE MEDICINE HAT TIGERS

    Saturday night will be the first and only regular season meeting between the two hockey clubs this season. The Silvertips are 2-1 against the Tigers in Regular Season franchise history and 1-0 against the Tigers at the Everett Events Center. Last season, the Tigers defeated the Silvertips 3-1 at The Arena in Medicine Hat, AB.

    Lukas Vartovnik had two goals to lead the Silvertips in scoring
    Everett, WA - Tonight the Eastern Conference and Western Conference heavy weights went head to head at the Everett Events Center. The Everett Silvertips took down the Medicine Hat Tigers by a final score of 3-1. This is the only meeting of the regular season between these two teams and the Silvertips lead the all time series 3-1.

    Everett, first in the US Division, rises to 32-6-0-1 and 65 points. Medicine Hat, first in the Central Division, falls to 30-14-2-0 and 62 points. With this win the Silvertips have 16 straight home victories and are now a perfect 10-0 against the Eastern Conference this year.

    The Silvertips struck first on a power play at 7:02 of the opening period. Lukas Vartovnik caught a rebound and pushed Everett up 1-0. The Tigers evened it up at 16:42, while they were on a power play, with a goal from Michael Sauer. Matt Lowry and Derek Dorsett earned the assists.

    In the second Vartovnik struck again while he was in the slot and again the Silvertips had a one goal lead. Then in the third, Kyle Beach waited out in front and stuffed the puck by Ryan Holfeld to end the scoring at 3-1. Earning one assist a piece tonight for Everett were Brandon Campos, Taylor Ellington, Shane Harper, Jason Fransoo, Jesse Zetariuk and Dan Gendur.

    David Reekie again performed well and stopped 21/22 shots. He rises to 14-6. Ryan Holfeld, the Tigers' netminder, made 19 saves on 22 shots but falls to 6-4-1-0. On the power play Everett converted on 1/8 while Medicine Hat scored on 1/6. Both teams had 22 shots on goal.

    Tomorrow night, Sunday January 7th, the Everett Silvertips host again with the Portland Winterhawks coming to town. The puck drops early at 5:05pm.
