BLAZERS WEEK IN REVIEW – JANUARY 29th The Blazers won all three games they played over the course of the last seven days to improve their record to 35-13-1-1 which puts them in first place in the BC Division – one point ahead of the defending WHL Champion Vancouver Giants. Here’s what happened as the Blazers went 3-0-0-0.
January 24th @ Seattle: KAM-3, SEA-2 – Ivan Roháč scored with 6:33 gone in the third period to break a 2-2 tie and lift the Blazers to a 3-2 win in Seattle on January 24th. Ray Macias and Ryan Bender also scored for the Blazers as they rallied from a 2-1 second-period deficit. Final shots were 30-25 Blazers with Dustin Butler picking up the win and Derek Yeomans taking the loss. The Blazers were 1-for-4 on the PP and 5-for-6 on the PK.

January 26th vs. Vancouver: KAM-2, VAN-1 (SO) – Juuso Puustinen scored in regulation and in a shootout as the Blazers got past the Giants 2-1 on January 26th at ISC. Puustinen and Milan Lučić traded first-period powerplay goals as the game stayed 1-1 through to the end of overtime. Final shots were 25-20 Blazers with Dustin Butler earning the win and Tyson Sexsmith taking the SOL. The Blazers were 1-for-2 on the PP and 3-for-4 on the PK.
January 28th vs. Seattle: KAM-5, SEA-2 – Ray Macias scored twice in the third period to key the Blazer rally in a 5-3 victory over Seattle on Sunday night at ISC. Matt Kassian, Juuso Puustinen, and Terrance Delaronde - into an empty net - also scored for Kamloops as they outshot the Thunderbirds 35-23. Dustin Butler picked up the win while Jacob DeSerres took the loss. The Blazers were 2-for-8 on the PP and 5-for-6 on the PK. The win was the Blazers' 4th in a row and moved them 1 point ahead of Vancouver for first place in the BC Division.
BLAZER FANS SET NEW ATTENDANCE BENCHMARK 5,761 fans took in the Blazers’ 2-1 shootout win over the Giants on January 26th to set a new Interior Savings Centre attendance record. The previous high was 5,684 which came on March 14th, 2003 as the Blazers posted a 5-2 win over the Prince George Cougars. Capacity at Interior Savings Centre is now 5,964 (up from 5,658) after a series of minor renovations. ISC opened in the fall of 1992 under the Riverside Coliseum monike

MAGIC NUMBER The Blazers Magic Number to clinch a playoff spot is down to 1. Any combination of Blazer wins and Chilliwack losses will put the Blazers into the post-season for the 25th time in 26 seasons.
LEGENDS The Blazers will be holding a media conference on Thursday afternoon at 1pm at the Blazer office to introduce the Top 25 All-Time Blazers. A special celebration is coming on the weekend of February 23-24 for both the All-Time Blazers and the latest inductees into the Legends program.
