Brandon, Manitoba -- Brandon continues a 5-game Western Hockey League home stand Wednesday night against the visiting Kootenay Ice and for at least two members of the Wheat Kings, they'll be hoping to join some elite company in the process.

Head coach and general manager Kelly McCrimmon enters the game, needing one more victory to become only the third coach in franchise history to reach the 150-win plateau while captain Mark Derlago is scheduled to take to the ice for the 200th game of his WHL career.

A former Manitoba AAA midget league scoring champion, Derlago has played in 133 consecutive games. The 49th captain in Wheat Kings' history is among the league scoring leaders with 38 goals and 64 points.

McCrimmon meanwhile is currently 149-154-33 and is the third winningest coach in club history, behind Bob Lowes (363) and Dunc McCallum (251).

Speaking of milestones, Codey Burki enters this weeks play needing two assists to reach the century mark in his WHL career, Jeff Topilko is seven points shy of 100 and Ryan Reaves is six games away from 200.

While the Wheat Kings take a 13-point lead atop the Eastern Division into Wednesday's game thanks to a 32-19-2-8 record, the Ice are sitting second in the Central Division with an impressive 41-14-3-3 mark including a 17-9-2-2 record away from home.

Wednesday's game features two teams familiar with post-season play. While the Ice clinched a playoff spot for the ninth consecutive year on February 17th, the Wheat Kings are well on their way to advancing to the WHL playoff party for the fourteenth time in the past 15 years. As well, Brandon's magic number to clinch the division is twelve points. Any combination of Wheat King victories or Regina losses adding up to 12 points will send Brandon to its fourth pennant in the past six years.

Brandon is coming off a grueling 6-game in eight day stretch that saw the Wheat Kings collect nine of a possible 12 points and are coming off Saturday's 4-2 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors.

The Wheat Kings, who will have 20-year old left-winger Rob Klinkhammer back in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Ice, will host Swift Current and Regina this weekend before taking on the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday. A former member of the Portland Winter Hawks, Klinkhammer was suspended last weekend for one game after being ejected for his checking-from-behind major Friday night on Warriors' defenceman Jock Sutter.

Before Friday's game, Klinkhammer was among the league's hottest scoring forwards with two goals and 11 points in his four previous games.

Game time Wednesday is 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca

In other off-ice news, the Wheat Kings would like to remind their Season Ticket holders that the deadline to renew your 2007 playoff tickets is this Saturday, February 24th at 10 p.m. following Brandon's game against Regina.
