TIGERS HOST 'CANES FOR CENTRAL DIVISION BATTLE -- The Medicine Hat Tigers (51-15-2-0) look for their fifth straight win as they host a desperate Lethbridge Hurricanes (31-31-2-3) team for a Central Division showdown on Wednesday, March 7th.

Wednesday night's contest between the Hurricanes and Tigers can be seen live on Rogers Sportsnet in the West and Pacific regions (7:00 p.m., MT; 6:00 p.m., PT).

The Tigers - already crowned as the Central Division and Eastern Conference champs - are coming off a 3-2 overtime win in Red Deer on Saturday for their fourth straight victory, and their 21st win in 22 games. The Tigers are a dominant 29-3-2-0 on home ice this season, and have not lost at the Medicine Hat Arena since a 2-1 setback to the Chilliwack Bruins on December 16th.

The Hurricanes, who wrap up an 11-game road trip tonight, are coming off Sunday's 5-3 loss in Moose Jaw for their third straight defeat, and currently trail Red Deer by six points for the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division, with one game less to play than the Rebels. Zach Boychuk (27g-53a) currently ranks fourth in the WHL in scoring with 80 points this season.

It's the ninth of 10 meetings between the Tigers and Hurricanes. The Tigers won five of eight previous meetings with Lethbridge, including all four previous meetings in Medicine Hat.

Should be an interesting matchup, lethbridge fighting for thier playoff lives. Medicine not wanting to lose on a live televised event, and still in the hunt for the scotty munro trophy. I wonder if holfeld gets the start tonight?

Lethbridge will have to come all guns ablazing, this is pretty much do or die time right now. They have shown before they can skate with us. Should be an intense game.
