Did anyone go to this function?

Or did they cancel it due to lack of interest on the part of the players?

After going into self destruct mode in the last five minutes against the Ice maybe they should have just cancelled the dinner and given everyone their money back.

They definately did not send any players to sign autographs, as there were people waiting in line (as they usually do after a weekend game).

And I don't know if having the awards/banquet right after the game is such a good idea.

Sure, it is much easier as the players and those fans whom purchased the tickets are already there.

But the distraction factor of the players, knowing full well they have to attend this function might be a little too much for some of them.
