Ages updated

Back on November 6, I posted a breakdown of the average age of each WHL team's roster this season. I've had a request to re-calculate those ages to see how they have changed with the moves that some teams have made since then. Which is actually a really interesting idea since, at least in theory, teams which are rebuilding would usually get younger as the season went on - due to moving vets for prospects - while teams looking to win this year would tend to get older as they add veteran depth. So, here we go. The previous post is linked above, but I'll repost the November 6 findings after the new ones....

Here's the current average age, with league ranking in that category:
Edmonton: Avg age: 18.227 (1)
Everett: Avg age: 18.174 (2)
Kamloops: Avg age: 18.130 (T-3)
Chilliwack: Avg age: 18.130 (T-3)
Lethbridge: Avg age: 18.130 (T-3)
Swift Current: Avg age: 18.091 (6)
Spokane: Avg age: 18.087 (7)
Calgary: Avg age: 18.080 (8)
Moose Jaw: Avg age: 18.043 (9)
Portland: Avg age: 18.042 (T-10)
Medicine Hat: Avg age: 18.042 (T-10)
Prince George: Avg age: 18.042 (T-10)
Prince Albert: Avg age: 18.040 (13)
Kootenay: Avg age: 18.000 (T-14)
Regina: Avg age: 18.000 (T-14)
Brandon: Avg age: 18.000 (T-14)
Saskatoon: Avg age: 18.000 (T-14)
Red Deer: Avg age: 17.917 (T-18)
Vancouver: Avg age: 17.917 (T-18)
Tri-City: Avg age: 17.87 (20)
Seattle: Avg age: 17.818 (21)
Kelowna: Avg age: 17.792 (22)

And this is how it looked back on November 6:
Everett: Avg age: 18.217 (1)
Edmonton: Avg age: 18.19 (2)
Chilliwack: Avg age: 18.125 (T-3)
Prince George: Avg age: 18.125 (T-3)
Swift Current: Avg age: 18.091 (5)
Kamloops: Avg age: 18.087 (T-6)
Spokane: Avg age: 18.087 (T-6)
Regina: Avg age: 18.083 (8)
Calgary: Avg age: 18.08 (T-9)
Portland: Avg age: 18.08 (T-9)
Medicine Hat: Avg age: 18.077 (11)
Lethbridge: Avg age: 18.043 (T-12)
Prince Albert: Avg age: 18.043 (T-12)
Moose Jaw: Avg age: 18.042 (14)
Brandon: Avg age: 18 (15)
Kootenay: Avg age: 17.958 (16)
Saskatoon: Avg age: 17.913 (17)
Tri-City: Avg age: 17.875 (T-18)
Vancouver: Avg age: 17.875 (T-18)
Red Deer: Avg age: 17.826 (T-20)
Seattle: Avg age: 17.826 (T-20)
Kelowna: Avg age: 17.783 (22)

All changes are very small - as you might expect from an average of 20-some players. Notably though, Prince George and Regina have gotten younger (0.083 years on average) while Saskatoon, Lethbridge, and Red Deer have gotten older.
