Tips Win, Kirk has good game

If the game had ended in regulation between Portland and the Tips it would have been a 2 hour game.

Five total penalties in the game. The first penalty on Portland was called 2 minutes into the 3rd period.

Tips are one of the most penalized teams in the league, Portland is one of the youngest. He just let them play. Nothing got out of hand, no fights. 2-1 OT game. Actualyl enjoyable to watch. Lots of flow, up and down the Ice. 40 shots for the Tips (Mucha was outstanding!), 29 for the Hawks.

Kirk has had several good games this year. When Spokane went up to play Calgary I believe he only called 3 penalties the entire game. That game also ended up 2-1 in overtime and was one of the most exciting games of the year, imo.

Kirk seems like he is becoming one of the better refs in the league (although I'm sure that would be highly debatable depending on who you talk to). I for one don't shudder when I hear his name during the pregame anymore, which doesn't happen too often.
