Tips Tailgate Party Tonite

County Executive Aaron Reardon has scored his first Silvertips Hockey Playoff Tailgate party, securing a spot on Snohomish County's new civic Plaza and a partner in local restaurant owners of the Horseshoe Jazz and Blues Steakhouse.
The Tips Playoff Tailgate party starts at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday on the lower Plaza located at Oakes Avenue and Wall Street, right across the street from the upper, Suite Entrance to the Everett Events Center. Lincoln, the Tips ever-popular mascot will be there!
"We're big fans and we're neighbors to the Everett Event's Center," Reardon said after announcing this inaugural Tips Tailgate. "It's the Silvertips first home playoff game this year. We want to give families a place to gather before the game and show our support for the team."
Walt Blush and Gretchen Ormsby, owners of the Horseshoe Jazz and Blues Steakhouse, 1805 Hewitt Avenue, launched immediate plans to "help Aaron cook" grilled steak sandwiches and serve a salad and chips at the party. In spite of heavy pre- and post- Silvertips game customers at their Hewitt Avenue restaurant on game days, they're sending in their ‘first line' to tackle double duty at the Tailgate event.
The Silvertips game starts at 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday at the Everett Events Center. The Tailgate event runs from 5:30 "until the food runs out or the game starts," according to organizers
