"I'm just happy to be here, but getting that much ice time is making me happier," said Plante, six foot four and 200 pounds. "It's fun. Kind of a shock, but I'm having a blast."
With Darryl Yacboski, 19, enduring shoulder problems, Plante has stepped in and, with 16-year-old partner Karl Alzner, handled a regular shift, including during the weekend's pressure-cooker in Lethbridge. Game 3 is today (7 p.m., FAN 960 radio) at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
"It's a big change. But each game is getting funner and easier," said Plante, a Grade 10 student who dressed for eight regular-season games, a transition-easing development. "I got more used to the speed. Then, in playoffs, it wasn't as big of a shock as it could have been."
Alzner, the club's baby all winter long, now has someone lower than him on the totem pole.

"Humans think they are smarter than dolphins because we build cars and buildings and start wars etc...and all that dolphins do is swim in the water, eat fish and play around. Dolphins believe that they are smarter for exactly the same reasons."
