CALGARY, AB. - The BOSTON PIZZA WHL Player of the Week is defenceman Chad Greenan of the Kootenay Ice.

Greenan picked up four assists to go with a +2 rating in two playoff games over the last week, helping the Kootenay Ice pick up a split on the road in the their 2008 WHL MNP Eastern Conference Semi-Final best-of-seven series versus the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

On Friday, April 4th, the Kootenay Ice opened up round two of the 2008 WHL Playoffs in Lethbridge facing the Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Semi-Final best-of-seven series. Greenan picked up two assists in the contest to help his Ice comeback from a 2-0 deficit in the third period to take game one and home ice advantage with the 3-2 win.

The next evening, Saturday, April 5th, at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge, the Hurricanes again took control of the game and held a 4-0 lead with just over 13 minutes remaining in game two. The Ice stormed back with four unanswered goals, evening the score with just 15 seconds remaining in the third period sending the pivotal game two into over-time. Greenan picked up two assist in the game, which saw the Hurricanes eventually closing the deal in over-time, winning game two 5-4.

The series now shifts back to the Cranbrook as the Kootenay Ice will host the Lethbridge Hurricanes for games four and five on Tuesday, April 8th and Wednesday, April 9th at 7:00 pm MST.

Greenan, a 20 year old from St. Albert, Alberta, is in his fourth year of play in the Western Hockey League and with the Kootenay Ice.

The WHL has also nominated Tyson Sexsmith of the Vancouver Giants for the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week Award.
