YEOMANS NAMED GREYHOUND WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Calgary - The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is goaltender Derek Yeomans of the Kelowna Rockets. Yeomans earned Player of the Week honors by recording a 1.00 goals against average, a 0.945 save percentage and two shutout wins and an overtime loss during the week of January 10th to January 16th.

On Wednesday, January 12th, Yeomans stopped all 18 shots he faced in a 1-0 shutout victory against the visiting Prince George Cougars.

On Friday, January 14th, Yeomans recorded 18 saves in a 3-2 overtime loss over the Cougars in Prince George. On Saturday, January 15th, Yeomans made 19 saves in a 5-0 shutout win against the Cougars in Prince George.

Yeomans, an 18-year-old from St. Albert, Alberta, is eligible for the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
