Training Camp
www.blazerhockey.com
Day 1 of training camp is in the books with six practices and two games completed.
Some interesting notes from camp:
•There are seven California kids in camp, and all seven are on the Blazers protected player list.
•Carson Trask is in rookie camp, he is the brother of current Blazer forward Jake Trask. Carson was originally a 9th round bantam pick in 2008 to the Saskatoon Blades.
•Out of the 94 players in camp, 12 of them are Kamloops’ natives, including Mark Hall, who missed last year with a knee injury, and Matt Cumming, who was acquired from Prince George over the summer; the Blazers have 20 returning veterans.
•Rookies in the mix include Matej Bene, the team’s 2009 1st round European pick from Slovakia, the Blazers 2008 1st round Bantam pick Colin Smith, Uriah Machuga and Ryan Hanes all of which got into games with the hockey club last year.
