Two former Moose Jaw Warriors will square off Friday night when the Nashville Predators and Chicago Blackhawks play Game One their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.

Dustin Boyd with strap on the skates in the Nashville locker room. Troy Brouwer will do the same for Chicago.

The duo were part of the 2006 Warriors team that made a run to the WHL Finals. That team entered the playoffs as the number three seed in the East, much like the second seeded Blackhawks in 2010.

"(Moose Jaw) came up against some tough teams, and everybody was able to step up," said Brouwer. "We're going to need that this year in Chicago."

As for Brouwer facing off with his former teammate?

"It's great. As soon as we found out about the matchup talked on the phone, and we've been texting since."

Brouwer tallied 40 points for the Blackhawks this season, while Boyd has five points since being dealt from Calgary to Nashville at the Trade Deadline.

The pair will enjoy facing off, but will save the pleasantries for the off-season.

"We talked about going out for supper, but right now, it's all business."

Game One between the Blackhawks and Predators goes Friday night at 7:30.
