The Warriors have selected 12 players in the 2010 Bantam Draft. The Warriors took 6 forwards, 4 defensemen and 2 goal tenders. Warriors Director of Hockey Operations was pleased with this year’s Bantam crop.

“We were very satisfied with the results of the draft,” said Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Truitt. “We feel our strength was in choosing six talented forwards,” added Truitt. “Our hard working scouting staff made it possible to choose the best talent out there,” said Truitt. “We selected a good blend of statistically strong players combined with grit and size—making for a well balanced draft,” added Jeff Truitt.

The Moose Jaw Warriors selected Carter Hansen (D) as their 1st round 10th overall pick in the 2010 Bantam Draft. Hansen spent last season with the Lumsden/Bethune Lions. Hansen had 34 points with the Lions.

“Carter is a good skater with a tremendous shot and an offensives skill set,” said Warriors Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Truitt. Hansen joined the Moose Jaw AAA Warriors for a couple games last season. The six footer from Craven, SK. is known for is smart play and scoring ability.

Torin White (RW) comes from Balzac, AB and was selected in round 1, 21st overall (trade from Brandon). White put up impressive numbers last season in Airdrie. This right winger stands 5’9” and is sure to be a scoring force.

“His combination of skill and grit will be a great addition,” commented Truitt. “Torrin is a very intense player,” added Truitt.

The Moose Jaw Warriors selected Brandon Potomak (C) in the 2nd round 32nd overall. Brandon hails from Aldergrove, BC. “Brandon is a great skater with an offensive prowess,” said Warriors Director of Hockey Operations Jeff Truitt. “His biggest assets are his speed and competitiveness,” added Truitt.

Spencer Morse (D) was selected in round 2, 43rd overall (trade from Brandon). Morse is a native of Calgary, AB.-- a hot spot for young Warriors talent as current Warriors such as Nathan MacMaster, Danny Gayle, Riley Reinbolt and Dallas Ehrhardt all hail from Calgary. Spencer stands tall at 6”3, weighing in at 185 lbs. “Spencer possesses a combination of immense offensive and defensive skill for a big guy,” said Truitt.

Tenth round: Pick sent to Saskatoon
