Everett, WA - Everett Silvertips Vice President / General Manager Doug Soetaert announced Tuesday that the club has hired former Boston Bruins and Providence Bruins goaltender Jordan Sigalet to serve as goaltending coach. Sigalet, 29, was drafted by Boston out of Bowling Green State University in the 7th round of the 2001 NHL Draft and spent three seasons in the Bruins' system. He is currently an owner and instructor with British Columbia-based ProFormance Goalie Schools.

Sigalet was a 2005 Hobey Baker Award nominee as well as a 2005 ESPY Award finalist for the Comeback Player of the Year in a hockey season in which he posted a 16-12-3 record, 2.89 GAA and .915 Sv% for Bowling Green while battling Multiple Sclerosis. His charitable work, including "Shutout MS", an annual fundraiser to support MS research, along with his support of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society and The MS Cure Fund, led to his acceptance of the 2008 Fred T. Hunt Memorial Award, presented annually to the American Hockey League player best exemplifying sportsmanship, determination and dedication to hockey.

In three seasons with the Providence Bruins, Sigalet was a combined 46-21-5 with a 2.49 GAA and a .905 Sv%, and made his NHL debut in the third period of Boston's 6-3 victory over Tampa Bay on January 7, 2006. A former captain at Bowling Green, he was named as a 2003-04 First Team All-CCHA goaltender.

"We look forward to having Jordan work closely with our goaltenders," Soetaert said. "He is someone who is fresh out of his playing days, and we expect him to relate well to our young goalies to continue their development."
