Everett, WA - Bill Yuill, President of the Everett Silvertips Hockey Club announced today that Vice President and General Manager Doug Soetaert will be leaving the Silvertips organization at the end of May.

Doug has accepted a management position with a National Hockey League organization. Details of the NHL team and his new position will be announced Monday.

Doug has been the Vice President and General Manger of the Silvertips since the beginning and has built and developed the WHL expansion franchise to become one of the premier hockey franchises in North America. In its first year of operations in the 2003-2004 season, the Silvertips hockey club won the U.S. Division Championship and then the Western Conference Championship and in its second year the hockey club played through to the second round of the Western Hockey League Playoffs.

"It is truly amazing what Doug has accomplished in just three short years from building a hockey organization from the ground up and then putting a winning face on the franchise," mentions Silvertips President Bill Yuill. "Doug is a true professional who has a wonderful way of managing people and a most respectful way of relating to fans. He will indeed be missed around here, but everyone with the Silvertips organization wishes Doug and Nancy the very best for the future and congratulate him on his exciting career move."

Loosing Doug will be a big loss. He has done alot for the Silvertips and will be missed in the Dub. To bad.
