Yep...good times, good times. There are countless Pats/Warriors stories. I was thinking about the Coke machine incident yesterday when I was trying to find the tape I had with the Kaz/O'Clowner deal. I miss O'Clowner...lol.

Something else that was funny was during the Canada/Finland game I saw in Winnipeg in '99. The ref made a bad call, and the whole crowd started chanting "BULL ****, BULL ****". It was awsome. And during that game as well, one the the Finnish players got one of the Canadian players in a headlock and did a classic WWF move by DDTing him. The guy was a joke. He did some other stupid things too. The next year he spit in someones face and got kicked out of the game...and the tournement I think too.

i can't remember for sure, but i believe it was an Ice vs Lethbridge, with seconds to go, after a heated game, both teams went at it.. jumping off the bench and everything, but the topper that i will never forget, was when the goalies dropped their equipment and met at center ice. the Ice's goalie was Boxma, i bet someone can refresh my memory on the canes goalie.

I think it was Brady Block I remember the game in the old silverdome Leathbridge was a real goon squad that year but we were no slouches to we had Belak and Yablonski on the Ice to counter there tough guys, I REMEMBER Block coming to center ice to chalange B.J. while the linebrawl was going on B.J took the chalange and totaly cleaned up on Block, there were so many fights the linesman could'nt stop them all, even the coach Maxwel took a swing at someone (I don't remember who) I was working for ICE Security and it was nuts we had to escort the canes out to there bus after the game and make sure that they all got on the buss and no ICE fans got involved with them . Nothing like those games in the Memorial Arena

    Koopmans?

Anyways the wierdest/funniest thing I've seen was at a Brandon/Swift Current game in speedy creek. It was in the playoffs and the Broncos had wrapped the game up but with about 30 seconds to go the Broncos coach put on all of his tough guys. They all proceeded to grab a hold of a wheatie and pound them into the ice. The coaches were then yelling at each other from the benches (which are on opposite sides of the rink). The Brandon coach then started firing water bottles across the ice at the Broncos bench. A fan then threw a pop bottle at the Brandon coach. This was all fine and dandy but to top it all off Jordan Tootoo (I think it was him) threw a water bottle back into the crowd in the direction in which the pop bottle was thrown. I'm pretty sure it hit some dude in the crowd right in the mug. It was hilarious.

    Default Brawl in Seattle.

No exactly funny or wierd, just very memorable. In the 1989-90 playoffs in round one, game one. Seattle vs Tri-Cities, with a crowd of 12,500 in Seattle Center Coliseum. The TBirds were loaded with a ton of scoring talent featuring Petr Nedved during his one year in Seattle.
The game starts getting one-sided on the scoreboard. About 5-1 or so. TC defenseman Steve Jaques (5'11" 190) takes on Seattle defenseman Cam Brauer (6'4" 220). Now Jaques was tougher than a two-bit steak. They dance and then Jaques hammers the much bigger Brauer with a monster left. His knees buckle. Jaques squares up and hammers him with another haymaker left. Brauer goes over on his back like he was hit by a train. Jaques is escorted to the dressing room (by Jay Sharrers), puts his thumbs under his armpits and "does the chicken" to the whole Seattle bench as he's escorted past (complete with huge smile).
But then early in the third period, the trouble really starts. Seattle fans start dousing the TC bench with beer. The TC players (namely Jeff Fancy and Terry Virtue, both of whom got suspended) starting standing on the bench and swinging their sticks at fans in a very vicious manner. As the chaos worsened, about 4 TC players (including Jaques) went into the stands and were hammering fans with sticks. The cops had to get up there pronto to settle the situation while high-ranking WHL officials (Commissioner Ed?) filed onto the ice to view the melee and take charge to calm the situation down. Ugly! In the end Seattle won the game 9-2, the series 5-1 (remember those best-of-9's?) and TC lost their coach, Rick Kozuback, and several players to stiff suspensions. Brian Burke was there and said it was the worst thing he'd ever seen. How nobody got seriously injured still amazes me 15 years later. Definitely the most bizarre thing I've ever seen. The Seattle Times referred to it the next day as a "medieval battle". At least!
And I still remember Jaques "doing the chicken" like it was yesterday.

This is gonna be a lame story but last year during the western conference finals it was Silvertips Vs Rockets at the Events Center. A rocket gets stuck in goal. After having our goalie Harvey yealling at him for about 15 seconds, Harvey just sits on the guy and starts throwing punches. One of our Defensemen comes over grabs the rocket on the leg and pulls both of them out of goal while they Harvey is still fighting. That was the beginning of the 'Harvey, Harvey' chant for the rest of the playoffs.

    Default Wierdest Thing

I posted this on another board a while ago but i still chuckle when i think of it. The year before The Swift Current Bronco's returned to Swift we had a Tier 2 team known as The Swift Current Indians. The coach of The Indians was non other then Paddy Ginnell who had coached W.H.L. teams like The Flin Flon Bombers. Now Paddy loved tough hockey and tough players. When he came to Swift he started trading for tough guys who could fight. One such guy he brought in was Darren Jorgenson. Darren was the most feared fighter in hockey at that time. In one game he wanted to fight so bad. He would cheap shot everyone and layed plenty of challenges but again no takers. He even skated to the opposing bench and stood there and asked for anyone to go. Again no challengers. Finally later when the game was out of reach Darren was on the bench frustrated. A scrum started on the ice with all the players pairing up except the goalie's. The linsemen and ref were at the far end trying to break up the meelee. While everyone was busy at the other end, Darren comes off the Indians bench and skates to where the puck was laying. He bends down, picks up the puck and skates to the blue line and gently sets the puck down. Facing the opposing goalie who was busy watching the fights, Darren winds up and lets a wicked slap shot at the goalie and hits him dead on the mask. Darren then skated to the opposing teams bench and dove in swinging at all the players left. By the way the goalie was fine.
