I'm late to the party but what else is new. On Sunday afternoon the Hitmen won their first game of the season, 4-2 over the Ice.
It was a 2-1 Kootenay lead after 2 periods but the Hitmen came out in the third period and probably played their best period since the championship season. They scored 3 unanswered goals and held the Ice to just 1 shot in the period.
Victor Rask was impressive and it sounded like Glover made some good saves. I heard a rumor that Chris Dreidger might be ready to go as early as this weekend but that is only hearsay. Also, over on the Junkies site, there is a post mentioning that defenseman Ben Wilson might not be back this year.
Sunday's scoring summary:
1. KTN B. Hurley, (1) (B. Montgomery, S. Reinhart), 16:42
2. CAL D. Gayle, (1) (G. Chase, B. Brassart), 14:06
2. KTN S. Reinhart, (3) (J. Ismond, E. Pearce), 14:59
3. CAL V. Rask, (2) (J. Rissling), 6:14
3. CAL B. Macek, (1) (V. Rask, D. Gayle), 12:27
3. CAL K. Miller, (1) (B. Brassart), 19:50 (EN)
