VICTORIA, B.C. — The Seattle Thunderbirds allowed six unanswered goals after scoring the tying goal early, falling 7-3 to the Victoria Royals in a Western Hockey League game Saturday night.

Victoria scored a minute into the game, but Seattle's Branden Troock answered three minutes later to tie the score at 1-1.

The hosts dominated after that, taking a 7-1 lead early in the third period. Three of the six goals in the Royals' run were on power plays.

Seattle goalie Calvin Pickard was lifted after allowing five goals on 17 shots. Daniel Cotton made 14 saves for the T-birds.

Brad Daegle and Luke Lockhart scored late for the Thunderbirds.

    Everett falls 3-1

The Everett Silvertips were 7 for 7 killing penalties, but managed a season-low 16 shots on goal in a 3-1 loss to host Calgary.

Everett is 2-3 on its nine-game trip and will have two days off before facing the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday.

Pickard's shine is becoming tarnished. Pickard gave up 5 goals on 22 shots before being pulled during the 11/8 game. This is starting to be the norm for Pickard.
