The Edmonton Oil Kings are very proud to announce U.S. born Henrik Samuelsson will join the team from Modo in the Swedish Elite League. Samuelsson is a 94-born 6'2 192 pound forward with U.S. citizenship who grew up in the United States playing in North America for most of his developmental years and as part of the U.S. National Development Program. Samuelsson has played for Team USA at the 2011 U17 World Hockey Challenge where he totalled 10 points in five games as well as the World U18 Hockey Championship.

"Henrik is a solid addition to our team." said Oil Kings GM Bob Green "He's a player who brings with him a high level of skill with size and strength. He is a great fit for our hockey club."

This move means the Oil Kings now have a roster of 25 with a trio of U.S. imports - Samuelsson, Tyler Maxwell (Californian) and Cody Corbett (Minnesota).
Samuelsson is eligible for the 2012 NHL Draft and is the son of former NHL journeyman Ulf Samuelsson who also coached him in Modo. He is expected to arrive in Edmonton on Monday following this weekends games against Lethbridge and Swift Current.
