Geez, there's STILL lots of time left to capture a Playoff Spot and make a 'Run to the Cup'!!

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE !!!! Again, Its not over until the Fat Lady Sings!!!!
Did you miss it the fat lady has left the building about the same time as Sundher . I wouldnt be so crazy as to tell kids something they know wont happen MEM cup you'd really look like a fool . This isnt the 50s &60s when players believed what ever they were told lol You tell them every one has to pick up their game work hard pay attention to the details and if they do that the play offs are within reach . Man what era are you from ?

Dondo Quote: " As for you WHL50 -- did or do you seriously think your team has the remotest chance of being in the cup? Do you envision breakout players currently on your team stepping up their levels ten-fold? "

To answer your question Mod dondo, YES, I do think that The Victoria Royals have a chance !! Why not? Did you read the 10 Biggest Upsets in hockey posted on this site??

Many Teams, upon just sneaking into the playoffs, have caught fire and gone all the way. Who knows what disasters the opposition might face - injuries? loss of momentum? Poor play ?

THATS WHY WE PLAY ALL THE PLAYOFF GAMES WE DO !! ( That is other than the financial benefit)

ANY Team CAN WIN !!! You sure the Heck DO NOT pack up your Tent, believing that you will not advance through the playoffs into the Finals and play for the Cup!!

There is still time for the Royals to turn the Corner, catch fire, and make a competitive Run to and through the P[layoffs!!

The worse thing that a Coach can say is " It probably won't happen " !!!

Sorry, BUT , making a statement like that is NO way to encourage or motivate ANY player!

    GO ROYALS GO!!!!

You really think the Royals have any chance whatsoever against Kamloops or Tri-City in the 1st round of the playoffs???

Hey, bobsaget, YOU GOTTA KNOW that ANY Team can Beat ANY other Team, on ANY given Night !!! --- That's WHY they play the Games !!!

Have YOU read the ' 10 Biggest Upsets in Hockey' ???? --- No??? --- Well, maybe you should !!

And mjw22, --- The Psychology of Hockey HAS NOT CHANGED since the 50s & 60s ----- only the size of the players and the material composition of the equipment.

Royals have garbage goaltending and defence and now lost their best offensive weapon. At this point be happy Victoria has a team again.

    Bruins Drafting (overall)
2006 - Ryan Howse (3rd) Drafted to NHL / Drew Shore (22nd) - Stayed NCAA, drafted to NHL / Zak MacDoanld-Miller (43rd) wrecked shoulders in Midget, never played anything above Midget / Scott Ramsay (64th) - played, traded, ended career due to concussion - was invited to Anaheim Rookie Camp / Ryan Hankin (73rd) - played a little, from what I am told had major attitude / Brett Adnum (85th) - attended camp but never made team - released / Hudson Stremmel (106th) - went USHL route, was released and PG picked him up for a season before he went back south. / Cole Gelley (127th) - never cracked WHL, played in Surrey with Eagles / James Kellington (148th) - never cracked the WHL
    - Bruins Passed over James Henry, Deven Dubnyk and Tanner Sohn (as well as others)
US Draft - Jonathon Parker - 2 training camps, released, played in VCR, SEA and PA, signed Pro Deal with Buffalo, playing AHL
Euro Picks - Oscar Moller - Drafted NHL, played AHL/NHL, now in Sweden Elite League / Aki Kangasmaki - one season only, back playing Pro in Finnish League

So, 3 players drafted where drafted into the NHL, 1 signed as an EL F/A, 1 Invited to NHL Rookie/Main Camp. Not a bad draft for talent...we just never saw it all on the ice for the Bruins (Shore never came, dealt Ramsay and released Parker outright)

2007 - Kevin Sundher (7th) - Drafted to NHL / Carter Berg (26th) - Played, then traded to CGY, now in SJHL O/A / Dylan McKinlay (48th) - played, drafted to NHL, Traded to KTY / Tyler Stahl - Drafted to NHL, promising player on Long Term IR with Concussion, career??? / Chris Collins (77th) Played, traded to SASK, NHL Camp invitee / (Interesting fact...Chilliwack's 5th round pick traded to Brandon was Mark Stone) / Luke Siemens (136th) backed up a couple games with Bruins, traded, and putting up good number in MJ / Blair Wentworth (146th) tough kid, injuries slowed his development severly / Troy Murray (158th) never cracked WHL / Dylan MacNab (180th) - never cracked WHL / Josh Roach (198th) never cracked WHL
Euro Pick - David Hoda - returned home after Christmas

Only 6 guys made any impact with the team. 4 of them now have been dealt (Sundher, Berg, McKinlay and Collins). Siemens is now a starter (was dealt to Everett for conditional pick) before playing for the B's. Not a bad draft, maybe bad moves??

2008 - Mitch Topping (8th) Played, dealt to T.C. / Cole Holowenko (29th) played a couple games, dealt to P.A now #1 goalie / Tim Traber (51st) Playing / Bret Wold (73rd) never made lineup / Kale Derksen (95t) never made lineup / Derek Falloon (117th) never made lineup / Shay Folden (139th) never made lineup / Brett Wietzel (161st) never made lineup / Curtis Houlden (173rd) never made lineup
Euro Pick - Alexandre Wiklund - played 2 seasons

3 players have made significant contributions, one of those traded plus Holo dealt and now a starter out in PA. The rest still have time, but time is running out. Not a good draft IMHO

2009 - Edmonton took Griffin Reinhart with our pick @ 3, we took Steven Hodges with their pick (9th) playing / Kade Pilton (25th) playing / Brett Cote (48th) playing / Brandon Magee (84th) playing / Zane Jones (91st) playing / Turner Popoff (135) trying to crack line up - up and down / Matt Bissett (143rd) hasn't made lineup yet / Brandon Dusik (157th) hasn't made lineup yet / Austin Carroll (179th) playing / Regan Santoro (199) hasn't made lineup yet / Quentin Shore (201st) drafted in hopes he could bring big brother from NCAA to Chilliwack...not even sure if he is on the PPL any longer
Euro Pick - Roman Horak - 2 seasons, turned Pro

7 players are or have made regular contributions, with Popoff coming up when needed. Horak turned Pro already. Pretty good draft.

2010 - Keegan Kanzig (7th) playing / Clay Spenser (29th) not in lineup yet / Luke Harrison (51st) playing / Colman Vollrath (55th) not in lineup yet / Brennan Clark (139th) not in lineup yet / Sean Davies (143rd) not in lineup yet / Linden Bourne (167th) not in lineup yet / Reid Halabi (172nd) not in lineup yet / Taylor Crunk (183rd) playing / Chandler Irvin (205th) not in lineup yet

3 players so far playing in their first season of eligability. Not a great draft, but nothing too shabby either. Vollrath is expected to see action between the pipes shortly.

Rednex50, what's your point? You think the Bruins draft record was good or better?

I think overall, they drafted well (could always be better), but didn't develop and gave up on some faster than they should have.

    a grade out of 10, I give May a 6, Habby a 7.5 so far.
