    Default 2012/2013 Regular Season Thread

Good game to watch tonight Lots of shots but only 2 goals. Luke is a huge upgraded as a starter.

Corbin scored the first goal of the season with a point shot on the PP. Lange had a good game

    Should be an exciting season.

    Lines tonight looked like

    Knutsen Drasitlil McNeill
    Braid Bardaro Winther
    McVeigh Gardiner Danyluk
    Perreaux Vanstone Santucci

    Corbin Lange
    Ruopp Morrisey
    Hodler Gwinner

    Default Good game

    Both goalies were exceptional
McNeil looked good but I was wanting him to physically dominate and drive to net more on a few rushes rather than pass
Draisaitl seemed to spend alot of time down on the ice but looked ok otherwise
Gardiner had a few good rushes

Didn't like the decision to use Draisaitl in shootout (yeah it's hindsight I know), but lot of pressure and a tough spot to put kid in 1st game. I have no problem in coaches using him in shootouts from hereon in though.

I would like to see Winther on the first line and Knutsen sent to the 3rd and McVeigh pushed to 2nd

but it was the first game lots more to play from here

Put him in the shootout but DON'T put him 3rd...that's the highest pressure position...too much unnecessary pressure for the new kid, in his first WHL game, in front of the opening night crowd.

He should have been shooting first, maybe second...put the veterans in the clutch shooting positions.

Sure his legend would have been cemented by a goal but he has 2-more years to become a superstar in PA (NHL draft isn't until 2014).

Having said that, It's not the end of the world for Mr. Draisaitl. I'm sure he will shake it off and even use it to motivate himself for tonight's game.

The team looked pretty good against a team that is supposed to be soundly ahead of us in the final conference standings.

84 points left to go, RaiderBeliever.

    Heh.

Looks like McVeigh made the 2nd line tonight.

Congrats to him for his pp goal @ 2.38...

Knutsen scores as I type this from Draisaitl and Morden. 2-0 PA in the first 6.5 minutes.

    Congrats to Morden.
