You are right in that Berehowsky needs to be fired immediately. Let Lukowich step up for the time being if necessary but DB has to be released.

The BOD is brain-dead.. The GM seems clueless.. The Coach figures its the kids not buying into the system, maybe the system sucks and its set up to lose buy in or not.
At this point, nothing short of a clear house makes any sense what-so-ever.. Robson (and I will say I agree'd with his hiring at the time, knew the team, knew the 50 PPL, knew the draft situation, knew the league), but has proven that he should not be the man behind the reigns.. The Coach looks lost, and I dont think Lukowich or Craig are the answers either.. There are HIGHLY employable coaches and GM's out there that we mentioned over the summer who can come in and maybe salvage things (Playoff's are not even in the discussion, but maybe we can get a 10 win season if something is done quick, maybe enough to keep a few butts in the stands before the team goes bankrupt)
Lets face it folks, this is the beginning of another Decade Long rebuilding program. We fell out of the frying pan into the fire. The League does not care, the BOD is content that we are in the business of "developing hockey players" not in the business of "winning hockey games".. The problem is there needs to be a complete culture change, top on down, and it isnt going to happen.
Watch for next week to be another week of players running for the hills like mice.. Cant trade them all..
Will somebody, anybody PLEASE call a special shareholder meeting. It is time for the BOD to finally admit they cannot do the job of running a major junior hockey team. It is time to sell to some proper hockey people that can actually run the show. The Herman, Brian and Brian show is getting a little stale and there is no reason to think things are going to get better any time soon. When I logged on there were 24 people viewing the Hurricanes on this site and the rest of the league had only 13. You can't tell me that people don't care, they just don't like being fed the same line year after year after year. Crowds are way down from even last year and I cannot believe that there is any cash left in the bank to be paying any bills. We are broke and going nowhere fast. With not enough cash coming in, and the bills are not being paid, the WHL will have to step in and take over until a new owner is found. If the City of Lethbridge were to step in and give this BOD tax dollars to carry on, I would be greatly offended if I were down there paying taxes.
As far as the coaches go, there is a major disconnect there too. We are suppose to have two ex-NHL players as coaches who are suppose to be defensive specialists. Huh? With 40+ shots coming at the goalies each and every game, there is no system in place. The defense almost looks to panic when there is any kind of a scramble in front. They don't know what to do. It is not rocket science. Let the goalie see the shot, look after the rebounds and get rid of the players in front that seem to be able to skate in unmolested when ever they want. Tie up a stick, take out a body, block a shot, but for heaven's sake do SOMETHING other than turn around and watch the goalie! They are playing like they are afraid to make a mistake rather than play a proper system that should make all situations almost automatic.
Finally, I would like all of you out there that have yet to buy a ticket for the Super Series game next week, buy one now and fill the barn and be loud. Show this BOD and also the WHL brass that this is indeed a hockey town and we will support a team that that actually has ownership that wants to win.

I do not think Lukowich is the answer either but as you pointed out Bare, this team is broke. There is no way they can pay out Preston for the remainder of the season as a coach and GM, fire Robson and pay another GM as well as fire Berehowsky and pay another coach.
Even if the shareholders were able to get a meeting together for Monday night, a sale would be a long ways off. This organization has to do what is right for these players that are here now. That means Berehowsky needs to be gone. All the top brass have very pubically blamed this season's troubles on the players for not buying in and following the new systems. With only 10 players left here from last season, all the new blood on the team and all the same results it is all but impossible to continue blaming the kids. Someone further up the line needs to go with the hope that will result in a direct positive impact on the players.
The board, coaches and GM can no longer blame anyone but themselves.
if your tired of this sh@t in lethbridge email the whl, at least they have the power to make a change because talking to the board, as they say " falls on deaf ears".

GO CANES GO.................
Contact the BOD to voice these concerns if you haven't already! Their email address is boardofdirectors@lethbridgehurricanes.com. I suppose that is a tad presumptuous that they even know how to check email, but if everyone writes to them, at least it is aiming these concerns at the people who need to hear them. I lurk because I am by no means as knowledgeable as you guys on most of these topics, but I have been a canes fan since I can even remember. This is Lethbridge's team, and it's being ruined by people pretending to be Mark Cuban.
Here is a quick question maybe one of the shareholders can answer (I am not a shareholder). How much is a share, how does one obtain one, and does one share give you a vote at the AGM and the right to attend any other meetings?
100.00. Trudy at thecane office will sell u one or as many as you want. They have no accruing monetary value. Entitles you to attend the AGM ask questions and receive a financial summary. Also you can place items on the agenda for the AGM provided you have given proper notice.
