Last night (Jan 17) was obviously a great night to be a former Hurricane's player who is still be playing in the Dub, but it was a bad bad night to be a Canes fan!
First of all a trio of Canes that now play for Seattle had their best game by far since they have been traded. They scored 3 of the “Thundercanes” 4 goals in a 4-0 victory over Tri-City. Good for those boys.
McKechnie, Sam RW ………. 1g 0a = 1 - plus 2
Yakubowski, Jaimen LW….. 1g 1a = 2 - plus 2
Maxwell, Russell C ………….. 1g 0a =1 - plus 1
These players were the top 3 point getters for Lethbridge last year. Very frustrating as a Canes fan to see this. Interesting though that they all end up on the same team and would be a great line for Seattle.
I also noticed the following former Canes players had really good games last night:
Axel "Floater" Blomqvist had a good game with 0g + 1a and was plus 2 as Victoria beat the Rockets 3-1 last night. Jay Merkley had 1g + 1a = 2pts and was plus/minus 0 and Ryan Pilon had 1g + 1a = 2pts and was plus 3 for Brandon.
I guess these players have adapted to their new teams "systems and structure". With 6 or more former Hurricanes having such good results on one night, it just adds to the unmitigated frustration we Canes fans have to deal with!!!!

An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.
