Default Dieno day to day, Kopeck in

Dieno making the road trip with the team. Apparently had a cut to his thigh and hasn't been ruled out for tonight although it is unlikely. That's a relief. Presten Kopeck also making his Rebs debut tonight per the Advocate. Musil and Nell also retuning, and Volek will rejoin the club for the Regina game.

    Rough night for the Rebels.

    Some notes:

    - They missed Dieno and Volek out there...badly.
    - Way, WAY too much puck watching in the defensive zone, from rookies and veterans alike. This is the biggest reason for the L tonight. Just inexcusable lapses. Nobody seems to know their assignment in their own end and settled for following the puck like Tykes.
    - Sutter's line generated some decent offensive zone opportunities in the first, but was just plain bad in their own end... Sutter especially. Apparently a scout for the Jets was there tonight. Sutter did nothing to improve his standing in that organization I can guarantee you.
    - Gaudet had another rough game, turnovers, bad pinches, the whole bit.
    - Dixon's penalty in the first was right out of Slap Shot. I don't know if he's got a bad temper or if the guy is just a pure meathead, but he's gotta figure this out or his days in the Dub are numbered.
    - Polei and Chorney made the most of limited minutes. Really happy with their play tonight.
    - Feser was the worst Rebel on the ice tonight. Hurt to watch, it really did. Pushed off the puck by Brandon's d-men effortlessly, stick-checked a couple times off the puck in his own zone, had two great chances tonight only to not be able to corral the puck. Just a really awful night for him.
    - Uncharacteristically tough game for Charif and Fleury, especially on the one goal. Not gonna win too many games where your top pair combines for -7. They'll bounce back.
    - New guy Kopeck had a few decent shifts but for the most part was invisible. Not gonna blame him given who his lineys were for not blowing me away though.

In all, with the exception of a couple guys who played between 7-12 minutes all night, nobody looked too good out there. Just a rough outing and an ominous start to this roadie.
