I had a feeling this was going to happen when Sutter came back to run his club. With all the trades he has made to get rid of players he didn't like. I'm surprised it took this long.

Wallin is a quality young head coach & he will find another job in the WHL soon enough. Ha maybe Swift Current can fire Lamb & bring in an actual Head Coach now (yes SC fans thata huge jab at u guys)

So much for the rumours of Truitt going to Stoon to fix that mess, looks like Blades fans are still stuck with Mollenken.

This was inevitable. Jesse has had plenty of opportunities with different rosters but never with the results required at this level.

Jesse is a great guy and hopefully he lands on his feet but it was time for a change and when you are the owner and the general manager it is your decision and Brent must feel that he can do better.

    Time will tell.

Plenty of opportunities with less talent than anyone else. When are the Rebels and Rebel fans going to wake up and realize the scouting is sub par. Sit down on the glass the next time MedHat comes in and watch those forwards. Those are real WHL forwards...to a man, right from the Shinkaruk down to their 15th forward, they are better the Rebels forwards.

Believe this: Randy wanted to take the 5th overall pick Mark McNeil over Nugent-Hopkins!!! The Rebels will never again be successful with the head scout they have.

Honestly, besides the prestige of the Rebels having the 1st overall NHL draft pick, wouldn't the Rebels have been better off having McNeill for 4 years than the 2 years that they got out of RNH?

I was actually thinking the same thing. Or how about four seasons of Ty Rattie? Don't get me wrong, RNH sure was entertaining to watch, but there is a number of scenarios that would have worked out better at the junior level, than two seasons of RNH.

Obviously when a team has a number of eighteen year old undrafted rookie checkers cracking the roster out of training camp, the scouting hasn't been top-notch, but the Rebel scouts haven't been all bad, they did scout out relative unknowns like Coetzee, Elson, and Kuemper, who they listed for nothing or acquired for next to nothing, and they did pretty good getting Petrovic and Fleury with their second rounders of late.

The current team does have some talented young players on it, that really should be showing more improvement than they have. Hopefully the changes to the bench will set some of them in the right direction again.

If Wallin can role 4 lines for more than half a period, then...he's better than Lamb!! lol

As good as RNH was from a franchise look McNeil would of been a better choice in the long term. Its not like Rebels wwon anything when RNH was there due to the failed attempt (if any at all) of putting all the pieces together when having such an elite talent. Having McNeil in RD this year with Dumba would easily have the Rebels in 1st in the Central. Maybe the Rebels brass should of listened to Randy??????

As for Wallin every time the Rebels were in Regina I always thought Wallin was a great coach in how he had his group prepaared & firing on all cyclinders. Especially on the PP which always looked dangerous.

Actually 8 defense and 12 forwards, as Thiel has been converted to forward.
