I'm not sure why people think he quit? I've talked to people in the organization & nobody has said he quit. He played in the last game, a lot, & got a goal. I'm not taking the word some some guy who thinks Atwal should be on this team as a 20 yr old, especially considering his off ice issues.

And, can you at least spell his name correctly?

Read that last night. Personally, I won't miss him. I didn't want him back after the first time he quit. I think he's very overrated by many. I just don't know what the Giants will be able to get for him. I think he would've had more value if they traded him last November. Either way hopefully Hanlon doesn't get hosed on his first trade as a GM. Although he's in a tough situation trying to move a player unwilling to play for his team. Not exactly a lot of leverage.

A few years back a minor league pitcher was traded for some Red Deer made Prairie Stick bats. Menell's gotta be good for a least one hockey stick and a 'don't let the door hit you on the way out'.

Menell isn't overrated, he's a valuable player on any team, but his attitude is his downfall. He's got a lot of talent as an offensive dman & Hanlon has his work cutout for him trying to get equal value. I think he's tired of playing for a losing organization but talking to people last night some weren't sure what his deal is.

I think the team has demonstrated enough disfunction over the past several seasons despite stating they turned the corner a few seasons in a row (lost track of their announced turn arounds so maybe their still facing backwards?). Mennel's on again off again performance couldn't possibly be the exact opposite of the great team first player he really is could it? He certainly does have some hockey skills, but I think this team needs a whole lot more cohesion. I think at this point players on the same 'team' page will do better as a team than a non-overrated player that comes across as a completely over inflated player. I do wish him well with his next team, he still young and will be better off moving forward in life without a stale taste in his mouth from playing here, and a clean start will no doubt do wonders. On this team I will continue to view him as a cancer that is better gone, and the sooner the better.

With or without Menell, the Giants defense is downright frightful. Somebody please have Kubic's straitjacket ready.
    WE ARE ALL GIANTS.

Yeah that's a huge hole to fill. Even with Menell, there's a need for another 2 vets.
