    Default Silence is NOT golden

So what's going on with the lack of production on this blog? It seems that when the team was struggling, there were more people commenting than you could shake a stick at. Now, when this team is nationally ranked, has scored more goals than anyone in the Dub, has the best PP in the league, is fast acquiring one of the best PK's in the league, and is generally regarded as a highly skilled, dangerous team, you cant hear anything but crickets here. I know that it is far more entertaining to spew negativity, but where are all the "Nabobs of Negativity" hanging out now? C'mon folks, there is a lot to discuss with this team, let's make it happen!!!

People are generally more vocal about things they are displeased about, than things they approve of--It is just human nature.

I for one think that the turnaround in Lethbridge is fantastic! Aside from Babenko, there isn't any real significant additions to the team over last season, nor do they have multiple lines of highly skilled players. What they do have is four lines that are giving 100% every shift. Players that they got in deals where they supposedly got 'fleeced' in, like Lindgren and Pankewicz are absolutely playing their asses off right now, and are a big part of the turnaround.

The goalie that nobody seemed to want in Sittler as well as the rookie that was seemingly thrown to the wolves too soon in Skinner have played very well after getting lit up in a big way all of last season. It is extremely easy to destroy a 16 year old goaltender by doing what the Hurricanes did with him, but he seems to be thriving now.

I just assumed no one was posting here anymore and moved on to Pat's blog.

This team has been amazing to watch. As SectionN said, not one of these players was ever considered a "star". They were traded here because they weren't wanted were. And yet these Bad News Bears or Mighty Ducks have managed to take the CHL by complete surprise. While Wong, Burke, Babenko et al have certainly made a name for themselves there is no one star to this team, or two or three stars for that matter. For the most part, there are 20 stars here because everyone is contributing. Suddenly Lethbridge is a place where players hope to be traded to instead of fret being traded to. Being a Hurricane no longer means the end of your career.

The season is still young and there are no guarantees for the future but for right now as it sits today, there is not much better than saying proudly "I am a Hurricane fan". We have waited a long time for this. I congratuate the hockey operations on their outstanding results thus far and wish the players the best of luck through the remainder of the season.

Now where is Moon with his opinion?

    Default Life is good

Last year at this time I was wondering if there would even be a team after Christmas. But this year I'm opening up the league standings everyday and saying "well look at that. The hurricanes are first in the eastern division ".
I am doing that just cause I can. And it feels so good

    Default Kudos to all....

It's almost been one of those "don't say anything or your might ruin in" situations.... the team has been fantastic. Great work by the management staff, coaching staff and of course the players. The returning players have continued their commitment to the team, the new WHL vets have come in and chipped in and the rookies are learning the ropes to help continue the good play going forward into future seasons. Will they make the playoffs? Yes... likely. Will they go far in the playoffs?? who knows, but doesn't really matter as nobody I'm sure even thought they would be in a position to make the playoffs this year. hoping the boys stay healthy and continue their good play. I worry about the decisions that will have to be made in the off season about the returning over agers but won't worry about that right now.

    Right here, why?

What is there really to talk about? The team is overachieving good for them. There aren't any good players to get excited about, the games I have seen they have been badly outplayed, they look like a team ready to be swept in the first round.

If others are enjoying it great for them, I have never said people shouldn't go to the games or enjoy themselves, but for me there is nothing to really like or talk about with this team.

Going to games still is a bad experience, the team still doesn't look close to being a contender either.

You forgot to mention babies are ugly and flowers stink

Fans are coming back and having fun. Teams are coming in and having to battle. We no longer see just their back up goaltenders and fourth liners Rink is s getting louder and harder for these teams to play in. No superstars here but a team in a team sport working together and never saying die As far as a contender goes who's in first place today halfway thru the season? Lots can and will happen as the season goes on but give it a chance . Right now the canes are giving us good ride. Take another try and hop on. You may enjoy it in spite of yourself.
