Default Tyler Benson out for road trip

Needs rest apparently. I might be reading a lot into this but must be something more serious. I hope he gets well for whatever is ailing him.

It's unfortunate he's had missed time etc as it probably affects his draft I'm sure.

    Get well .

Any updates on Benson? This is really turning out to be much longer than anticipated. I saw him a few times walking around the past two games.

He has now fallen to an early 2nd round pick in the upcoming nhl draft.

    Hope it's not serious.

Jay Janower reported before the prospects game that he's done for the season. It's a groin injury from what I hear & I'm sure he's done. I just wish they would come out & say that instead of *****footing around.

I've never seen a team as ravaged by injuries as this team has been this season. It's basically a write off, & there are some top bantam picks that are on the IR.

So far gone for the season are, McKinstry (concussion), Wapple (knee I think then released), Cochrane, (3 game try out lasted about 1 shift, I think shoulder), Barberis, (shoulder I believe also done for the season), Wesley (can't remember but done for the season), Benson, (groin, done for the season according to JJ), Foster, (concussion, may return), Holt, (not sure but been injured I think in the under 18 tournament around Xmas), add to the list the numerous other players like Cox, Ronning & Popoff & it's no wonder this team is having troubles scoring goals. When Foster & Benson came back the team won 4 straight & were in reach of Portland but then they got injured vs PG, (Benson, Popoff & Ronning) & the team lost 4 or 5 staight & some big losses score wise in Victoria.

It's really frustrating because if the team was healthy from the get go, (& they haven't had a full healthy squad from the preseason on) but if this team was fully healthy & think they could have made a run to win the BC Division. The start they had was brutal, but if they had a healthy Cox, Benson & Foster from the day they traded Houck & Co. the team had 4 strong lines & great goaltending from Kubic. Call me crazy but this team looked unbeatable when they got Benson & Foster back but unfortunately they got injured & the team just couldn't score goals. It's a damn shame because this could have been an interesting season.

Thanks for the update. No idea why the Giants are so secretive about things. They certainly have nothing to be secretive about. Another losing season. Why don't they just say Benson done! Such a frustrating organiation.

And I'm shocked Benson is a second round nhl pick. Never healthy.

I am. Some team is going to end up with a good one if he slips that far. I wouldn't count on it. I still say he'll be taken in the 1st round. Not all 30 teams are that stupid.

I hear Dawson Holt is supposed to play on Friday. I hope so. I really like what I have seen so far. Giants have some good young kids in Holt, Hardy, Kubic, Popowich, Barberis, Malm & even Benson.

I have noticed hardy. He seems to try and throw his weight around a bit. And seems pretty strong. Hope he turns into something.

Hardy has been one of the few bright spots this season. Plays like he's much older than 16. One of the only forwards (besides Crunk) capable of landing a heavy check.
