This organization has turned into a joke. It will be 5 coaches in the past 3years once the new guy is hired. Enough said!
Oh and its "fan de-appreciation" night tonight lol

Probably not fair he doesn't get a chance to coach with a full roster but it isn't totally surprising. With a new GM coming having a clean slate does make sense. Most new GM's won't want to inherit a coach. Plus Toigo seems to be more open to having someone fill both roles. I'm not really a fan of that but regardless it sounds like a possibility. Just no Mike Johnston please. His love affair with that guy annoys the hell out of me. I don't want anything to do with Johnston. I hate basically everything about the guy and his philosophy.
It's virtually impossible to support this organization any longer. Lorne represents experience and stability, but Captain Ron isn't interested? I have no idea what he wants anymore. Maybe it's for the best because Lorne doesn't deserve garbage like this anyway. His calm demeanour in the post game interviews was more than impressive. And that fact the kids enjoyed playing for him this season makes his removal doubly sad. Clear the decks, here comes Mike Johnston.
WE ARE ALL GIANTS.
Unfortunately Toigo appears like he wants to take over and that is certainly not a good idea. As much as many here rag on Bonner, having Toigo running the show is much worse. And if Mike Johnston is the selection I won't be watching. I despite him and everything he stands for. His version of hockey is euro trash ice capades. Count me out.
A perfect way to end this totally predictable season. I figured this would be a horrific season and that's why I didn't renew. If Saskatoon can get a single point in either of their last two games the Giants will be the second worst team in the league. And I doubt it will be any better next year. What's it going to take for Toigo to take off the blinders and realize this organization needs change from top to bottom. Perhaps moving to Langley and taking a new name and logo will be a step in the right direction. New ownership probably wouldn't be a bad idea either.
How f*cking insulting is that? Not being interviewed for the GM position, fired two games before the end of the season for a reason only Toigo knows and Ron's "reasons" being given are beyond flimsy.
Still don't have a GM after promising to have one at the beginning of Feb. Once again holding out for a guy who really doesn't want the job and ignoring those who really do want the job. I don't see Johnson every committing to this team and I am hearing rumours of a GM/Coach combo, which just makes me sick. Toigo needs to sell the team and let someone who has a bloody clue a real kick at the can. He has become an embarrassment and is far too involved with the management of the team with no Quinn or Howe reining him in.
Johnston would only come here if he had dual roles. Which is why it concerned me hearing Molleken was let go. Made me immediately think Johnston was one step closer to being hired. I can't overstate how much I don't want that guy here. I would honestly prefer anybody over him. And I mean anybody.
A whole season pasted and while I didn't attend one game I'm pretty sure that I didn't miss a single game. I didn't think I would be able to do that atleast not without some desire to go see a game. I also thought that they would be in a slightly, ever so slightly better position at the end of this season compared to last. While they aren't dead last I think that is one of those cases where the stats are painting a better picture than reality.
Makes me wonder if there was some sort of bonus that would have kicked in if Lorne managed to make it through the entire season, or if he didn't just try and explain to the boss that the boss was better just having his name down as owner and not also a ghost gm/coach.
That pretty much sums it up. Of course injuries ravaged this team and if they were fully healthy not losing key players for long stretches of time they would've made the playoffs. But honestly that doesn't change the fact most of the games were very boring. This team was not very close they didn't play for one another, didn't stick up for one another and more often than not gave up when things got tough. Toward the end of the year that is more understandable when the playoffs are out of reach. But that happened too many times early on.
Other than a couple of players like Kubic and Hardy there really wasn't much optimism from my perspective. Those were the two guys that stood out and impressed me. Other than that I was disappointed in most of the team.
Ya Kubic really came on after a shaky beginning. Once they kept playing him he improved a lot. Some of the vets were passengers on most nights, never to be seen. Benson never stays healthy . Hopefully whatever his issues were he recovers.
