Yet another mediocre undersized forward to join an overstocked crew of underskilled, undersized forwards - *slow golf clap* well-done Hanlon.. well done.....

Former Giants OA player Dakota Odgers placed on waivers to make room for Foster

I suspect Hanlon really sucks at trading - none of these deals actually improves the teams future - or present. Where's the upside? We couldn't deal Foster for an actual prospect and draft pick? What the ever-loving f*ck???

I am really not in a good mood right now- part the team and part something else, but come-on - if you deal your top line players at least get full value for the players

I think you are overrating Foster's value. I like him but it's not like he is some game breaker. He's a decent secondary piece to help solidify a playoff team. The 2nd round pick is the real value here. I'm not thrilled with Watts being part of the return (I would've preferred another pick along with the 2nd).

Getting a 3rd round pick for Baer was a good move, IMO. Addition by subtraction. He is a guy I certainly wouldn't want back next year as an overager. Better to get something for him now.

The Bondra deal is a bit more confusing (depending on the rights to which players the Giants received, which hasn't been reported) and a 3rd round pick. I thought they would get a higher pick and at least one young roster player. Again, as of now it's hard to say when the only information is the rights to two players. I'll reserve judgment on this trade until all the details are revealed.

All in all I think all this had to happen. This isn't a playoff team (contrary to what Toigo wants to believe) and there is no point trying to hold onto the fantasy this team could slip into the playoffs and do something. That ain't happening. Move the assets you can and move on. I hope Ronning is next personally. I highly doubt Benson goes. He's a prime candidate for a real nice haul next season. Moving him now would be quite stupid.

So the Giants get Cougars extra import Bison, 16 year old prospect Tyler Ho and a 3rd round pick for Bondra. Obviously Ho appears to be the key piece here. I know nothing about him other than what was mentioned in the press release.

Ho, who is from North Vancouver, was drafted by the Cougars in the third round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft and signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with Prince George on June 1, 2015. The 16-year-old forward is currently in the top 10 in scoring in the BC Major Midget League, tallying 14 goals and 21 assists in 26 games with the Valley West Hawks this season. Ho has also played in three games with the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express this year.

I had a feeling Bison would be involved (Cougars would have too many imports otherwise) but I was hoping he wouldn't be as he is just merely a rental for the rest of the season then the Giants will move on, IMO. He hardly played for the Cougars and really doesn't bring much to the table to warrant a roster spot especially as an import. If he is still on this team next year as a 19 year old (and hasn't significantly improved his game) that would be quite shocking. All and all I have mixed feelings on this deal.

Frankly, I'm losing interest in the Giants after 15 years of being a season ticket holder. Another losing season after we were led to believe that things would turn around this year and of course that hasn't happened. This long-suffering fan had a few bright spots to cheer for but some have now been traded and my patience has run out. The Giants are a sad sack team and I'm becoming a former season ticket holder.

I don't think you will be missing much. Giants aside, the sport itself is becoming more awful by the day. I barely watch anymore as it is. Even if the Giants were winning it doesn't mean I would be entertained. The entertainment factor in hockey in general is nonexistent. The latter part is the main motivator behind me not watching much anymore. Not wins and losses.
