Florida Panthers selected Nassen in the NHL Draft in 2016.
Nassen thought he was going to develop playing in the men's league in Sweden (when he really should have been playing in his own age group)--hence no intention to play junior anywhere in North America. It wasn't a snub to Brandon, but a snub to all of the CHL.
It will be interesting to see how he does this season.

Well, that's good, sounds more like bad luck than bad management on the Wheat Kings part then,.

I see the leadership group has been named. No real surprises, although I'm disappointed to see Kaspick and Clague with letters to be honest. Hopefully Tanner will remember that C on his jersey before taking the stupid, selfish penalties he and Coulter were famous for last season. And maybe Clague will provide more leadership on the back end than simply letting himself out at the D gate whenever he wants to, only to put up one even strength goal all year. Different year, same problems. /shrug

If it's the kaspick of 2 years ago, then he will be a fine captain. if it's the kaspick of last season, then the team is in trouble. I would have been tempted to try and solve all the dressing room issues of last year by making Jensen captain, but maybe that would just split the room again this year?
Give him a chance and see if he can lead this team, without the distraction and drama of you know......
Never argue with idiots, they just drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

If there is the discord in the dressing room that some posters suggest, you would think management would be able to pick up on that and remove the problems. The team HAS to pull together and support each other or they are beat before they start.

I'd characterize it as clicky, not discord, but last year there were some guys who hated Anning, and some who worked with Anning
I'm def happy for kaspick to be C if he leads as he did in AAA and his first 2 years here

He is playing with RHA midget prep team this year, so I wouldn't doubt it since a lot of those guys are trying to do that but there is a long way to go yet

Wow! We are losing players to the NCAA in droves the last few years. Very disappointing to lose Kehrer who looked like a very good prospect. What about Orio another second round pick who was not at training camp? He plays at Shattucks in the Minneapolis area. Boy! Very poor scouting and not being able to get a commitment from these players. We now have lost 4 high draft choice defencemen in the past two years, with the possibility that Orio makes it 5. What is going on with the WK? This is really going to hurt the on ice product. The scouting staff in combination with the GM seem to making more mistakes in terms of drafting bantams lately. Makes it tougher to Ice a top notch team down the road when you are losing your high bantam picks.
