With 7 days till deadline, will Mj do anymore upgrading?

As much as I would like to see an upgrade in net, I don't think it will happen. Knowing Miller, he will make small upgrades like the past 2 which isn't a bad thing if you are ok with the present team and hoping to win, But this our chance to really do something special and you have to look beyond the WHL championship: Mem cup or nothing!! I have no problem with having a couple of bad seasons to win it all which we never done

I agree Millar needs to do more than tweak the roster. We need 2 19 yr d men and if nothing else is done to the goalie situation add an experienced back up. After Brook and Woo the skill drops off a bit and is way too inexperienced . Add new partners for those two and the top 6 is pretty solid and add solid 2 way forward then Willms may survive. If he doesnt add to the defense cant see this team going far. A few of the top 6 forwards tend to be lazy in their zone exposing the inexperienced d men and then Willms . So spend whatever it takes to get a shot at the MC not like you can draw less fans than the last 2 yrs.

As a WheatKings fans you guys have a great team and should go all in as you can beat Reg no problem. A few up grades might be needed like Kale Clague. Your team has the assets necessary to make this happen. Do you really need an upgrade in goal?

Yes we do need an upgrade in net. I seen a post on the white board that highlighted why we needed a goalie. It pointed to how Willms GAA & SV % has gotten worse every month since the start of the year even though the team has gotten better defensively since than. (Believe the post was taken down earlier today).


I really hope that we actually trade for a few solid defensemen, as well as a goalie. Josh Anderson would be a nice addition for us going into the playoffs. I also seen on the white board that if we were to give the blazers Evanoff, conditional Pick, and a good young defenseman we might be able to get Ferguson from them. This trade would work for both teams as Kamloops would build for the 2020 cup, and we would have a strong goaltending duo for the playoffs.

I would love to see Clague here, but I don't think Miller will trade any of our top end prospects and break the bank! Will be moves like the one today, which with the Mem cup so close to home and never being there, really ticks me off!

the trade today wasnt great wasnt bad but I would rather saw those picks going to PG for Anderson/Mcdonald . Even to Kam with evenoff popple for Pilon/Ferguson or Ziatsev Evenoff and those picks for Vala/Ferguson. IF Millar chickens out and doesnt go all im done buying season tickets with him here as are others I know. We've ony had a couple teams like this ever and i dont care if I watch crappy hockey for 3 yrs we did that the years after we moved in the new rink and lost in the conf finals

Again it is highlighted that we need a goaltender. Evanoff played great for the first 50 minutes than Willms came in and pooped the bed.

Sounds like Evanoff is going to be fine for the next game. Hopefully we get to see our new defenseman tomorrow night!

Seems like the blueline next season is going to be young, it would have been nice to have Schuldhaus for then, but it was clearly done to accumulate more of what could be pretty good 2nd round Moose Jaw picks in 2019 and 2020, as well as bumping up the ice time for some of the current rookie defensemen (or at least distributing it more).

Alexeyev might take issue with that, but Schuldhaus was definitely one of the only two defensemen on the Rebels that was consistently steady in his own end this season. Sutter had already unloaded two 19 year olds for picks and a younger player, and released an overage player and an 18 year old depth player, and brought up four 16 year olds. Being that they are comfortably in a lottery draft position in the bantam draft, I think it is pretty obvious that Sutter is starting a full rebuild.
