    Default Memorial Cup

I have never been a fan of the tournament setup at the Memorial Cup. I think it rewards the hottest team of the week and not necessarily the best team. One bad bounce or bad call in one game can greatly effect a teams tournament result. I do know the Broncos have come a long way since the seven game series with Regina. They are playing way better hockey than they did in the first round. If the boys can get off to good starts in each game they have a good a chance as any of the other three teams. Like I said, not a fan of the setup but it would be pretty sweet if the Broncos could win the cup.

As a WheatKings fan, I wish the Broncos the best of luck and I believe they can win it all if Steenbergen comes back from getting hit. Even without him they have the best goalie and depth in the tourney.

The injury to Steenbergen was the turning point against Acadia imo. The Broncos weren't dominating by any means but they did have control of the game. If Steenbergen is on the ice for the power play, odds of giving up the short handed goals goes down and probability of a power play goal goes up. Changes the result. Yesterday against Hamilton, they just looked tired, both physically and mentally. Not to take too much away from Hamilton (they did a great job of taking away time and space), but the Broncos couldn't even make a five foot pass to break out of their end. Thankfully Skinner kept it close so the tiebreaker rules could favour the Broncos. It has been a roller coaster of a post season already so why should it change. Only thing now is that they have to win out. If the stars align, Acadia beats Hamilton tonight, Broncos win by at least 2 against the Pats and they are in the semi final. Pats and Hamilton play the tie breaker and see what happens from there.
