Who are the projected 1-3 draft picks in the 2020 Bantam draft? Are they comparable? If there is a head & shoulders #1 pick? - the Pats might want to hold tight to finish above PG & SC and hope the lottery lands on SC and therefore the Pats. By trading everyone at this year's deadline we will probably tank and finish last giving the best chance at the #1 Pick to Saskatoon who holds our pick....

I've been following this for the past year and there apears to be some clear consensus on the talent available. At least in the top four kids.

1: Connor Bedard - This kid is deemed to be a phenom playing out in Vancouver. He scores almost at will in Bantam/Midget and has put up huge numbers all his minor hockey career. Pegged a perhaps getting exceptional status from Hockey Canada so that he could possibly play in the WHL as a 15 year old. I still think it's a bit young but it could happen. A lot of scouts are already touting him as a can't miss 1st round NHL draft pick. I think he is the clear and away best pick at this point.

2: Braden Yager - 14 year old who plays for the Saskatoon Contacts in the Midget AAA League. He is an extremely talented kid (bit bigger than Bedard). Even being so young he is on the cusp of being in the top 10 of scoring. Considering the kids are up to 17 and bit older, he is doing phenomenal. He has all the tools and should be a big boy. Currently scoring a a pace more than a point per game. If you didn't get Bedard he would be a crazy good consolation prize.

3: Riley Heidt - Also 14 and playing Midget AAA for the Saskatoon Contacts. This kid is about Bedard's size but playing exclusively in the Midget AAA league. He is just shy of a point per game so. I watched him play and he seems to be be fast and skilled. He is a bit more of a finisher. All in all he is a super talent and worthy of being a top 3 kid.

4: There seems to be a bit of difference of opinion here but both kids are D-men and top shelf kids.
Tanner Molendyk from the Yale Academy in Abbotsford
Mazden Leslie - Plays with the Lloydminster Bobcats

There are of course a number of other kids who are very good but the consesus top three seem to be those above. It's worth noting that Leslie has bee as high as #3 for a while.
Obviously getting Bedard would be getting the best of the best, however getting Yager would be just about as good. Both are franchise type players.
