2022/2023 Season Discussion

Anybody taking in any of the Training Camp ? If so it would be nice for some opinions on the prospects/Returning Veteran's . I have to work this weekend so i am going to miss it.

I went out to the rookie game this morning... here is what i liked.

Elick, McQueen... no doubt best out there! I don't recall seeing McQueen in the second period. Elick didn't play much in the second either. Saving them i am guessing.
Hyland.. looks good too. Seems to be in the right spots a lot.
Baumuller.... he will make the team next year. I like his game from what i saw this morning. Very balanced and good skater. Has a beauty of a wrist shot. Needs to fine tune hitting the target. Likes to play the body and seems to be a 200 ft player.
Gonyeau... American D man. He looks pretty good out there. Not overly big but likes to play a bit of offence too. I can see them signing him, if he wants to sign. Play this year? Probably not.
Nothing but 06 & 07 players out this morning. So Mannix wasn't on the ice, nor Trembecky etc.

Gradey HOPE looks good to. He is offensive, big and can handle the puck pretty well. I can see him being a part of the D squad in time.
Dominic Grieco looked good as well. Fast and carries the puck well.
Turko/Odut... holy small. Not sure just yet.

There was a RONALD out there I don't have his details but wore Xtreme gear. He looks like a solid D man too. Good size and good along the boards. He looks tough to play against.

Might beat out Mannix and the Russian if the team gets him to sign. Size on defence never hurts. Sounds like the other American d man is quite good as well. The team has more good prospects than there are openings on the roster this year. Good problem to have.

Please give us your assessment of the vets and prospects after the game. Thanks in advance.
McQueen was fantastic at the U 17 camp earlier this summer. Was top scorer and looked bettter than Berkly Cattan who was the first pick overall in the same draft.

I saw McQueen the other day. He does look good. Him and elick were the best two for sure

Well both McQueen and Elick are looking good out there without a shock. They will be huge moving forward.

All the vets are looking pretty good. Palishakov looked the best. I think he wants to produce more this year. Looks shifty out there with good hands.

Chaloner will probably make the team. He is small but can move. Never stops. Not afraid at all.

Groening looked pretty good to. Pleasantly surprised.

Thornton and Turner should be worried. Out of the vets they looked the worst. Not showing signs of improvement

Wilson I thought was ok. Not something special I was anticipating.

Gonyeau should be considered to stay. He looks poised with the puck. Not rushed with decent speed.

Matthew Henry. Not sure where this kid came from but I like him. Speed and always moving. He was interesting to watch. I liked him

Trembecky is another that may not make this squad. Not sure yet. He got hit hard with his head down at centre.. he got up but a rude awakening

Malyavin looks like a keeper. He hit Trembecky at centre. I think he can have a mean streak when he gets his legs. He might be jet lagged still. But looks good.

Baumuller will be a good addition next year when he turns 16. He had a beauty of a goal. He’s made a good impression for sure and I can see why he was our 1st round pick this year

Not sure I will make the game tomorrow.
